Year 5 Camp

A week ago, the Year 5 students went to Tallebudgera Beach School.  We all thought that the teachers there were indeed very lucky because the outdoors is their classroom and the sand is their blackboard.  We discovered Jellurgal's (Burleigh Headland) many secrets, kept with the Yugambeh people.  We made new friends with students from another school.  The camp teams consisted of 'Pelicans', 'Seagulls', 'Sharks', 'Muddies' and 'Mantas'.  The activities that we participated in were exciting beach tasks such as tobogganing and beach challenges.  The difficult obstacles were canoeing and the Burleigh Mountain walk.  We will never forget how we bodyboarded side by side with all our friends and learnt the 'Surf Awareness Rules' from a Life Saver.

We think that the highlight of our camp experience was certainly toboganning.  All the students would like to thank the Beach School teachers and staff, as well as our own team of teachers for making camp such an enjoyable experience.  We think we can speak for the all the other students when we say, everyone had an amazing, out of this world time!
