Caningeraba State School is a preparatory to year seven primary school situated in beautiful Burleigh Waters on the Gold Coast. Established in 1987, our school was named Caningeraba, meaning “oyster bed”, in keeping with local indigenous history. Caningeraba is a truly special place, a high performing school which boasts an outstanding reputation in the wider community. It has become one of the Gold Coast’s best kept secrets, a big school with a little school feel, and a place where each and every child is valued and nurtured, no matter their individual circumstance.
Caningeraba is a school of choice and, through word of mouth, celebrates a rich culture and strong tradition based on strong community support, high expectations and a proven record of successfully catering for the needs of each and every child. Those “in the know” understand our absolute passion and commitment to going above and beyond for our children. Many hundreds of families have shared the joy of this wonderful school, now with many past students’ children attending, and also many children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews of staff. Caningeraba State School has a rich history in academic, sporting and cultural pursuits. Our parents love our school, our students love coming to our school and our staff love working at our school.
Our school vision, Caningeraba is a community committed to educating happy, healthy confident 21st century learners, drives our school improvement journey as we celebrate a strong culture of preparing well-rounded, well-adjusted, and well-mannered young people who have the resilience, independence and confidence to make their mark on the world.
